Pay-Per-Click
What is Pay-Per-Click?
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is the process of paying major search engines for ad placement among searches for keywords or phrases that apply to your business. Sometimes referred to as Paid listings, Sponsored listings or Sponsored links. It enables you to list your site amidst the search engine results by advertising on keywords that best describe your product or service. Pay-per-clicks are the ads that appear next to the natural search engine results either above or to the side of the natural listings. And, unlike the natural results, the PPC ads will appear on each and every results page from the first to the last.
Approximately 40% of searches view PPC ads while approximately 60% prefer the natural listings. If you ask which method I should employ, my answer will be both. Why settle for reaching only 40% or 60% of your potential customers when you can ultimately reach 100%.
PPC rates are based on the highest bid for placement among the results. That is, the amount that a company will pay for these ads is directly correlated to the number of companies that want to place ads for the same keywords. Whoever bids the highest will get the highest ranking in results. The minimum average bid price is $0.10. Different PPC search engines have higher or lower bid minimums.
The major advantage of Pay-per-clicks, is that you only pay for the ad when someone clicks on your link. When a searcher clicks on your ad, you’ll be able to track the results. There are no other hidden costs. And pay-per-click is now not only available on search engines; publishers are also including PPC advertisements on their sites.
